Margaret Ellen Ferrier, 1938–2026
Teacher, choir director, and for nineteen years the voice that read the fair results over the public address.
Margaret taught at three schools in the township and directed the choir at the united church for twenty-six years.
For nineteen of those years she read the fair results over the public address on the Saturday, in a voice that several generations can still hear.
A service will be held at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the library.
She is survived by two daughters, a son, seven grandchildren, and a great many former students who have been writing to this paper since Tuesday.
She retired from teaching in 1998 and from the choir in 2016, and told the church she would keep reading the fair results as long as they kept asking. They kept asking until last year.
