A vacant unit on the main street finds a tenant after two years
It has been a bank, a phone shop and empty. In October it becomes a bakery.

The unit has been empty since the phone shop left in 2024. Before that it was a bank for thirty-one years, which is why it has a vault.
The bakery is keeping the vault. The owners say it is the coolest room in the building and they intend to prove a use for it.
The main street has four vacancies, down from seven at this time last year. The improvement is real and it is also small enough that a single tenancy moves the number.
The bakery is the second food business to take a long-empty unit this year, which the downtown association has started describing as a trend and which is, at two, not yet one.
